Hey guys! So I finally decided to start a blog for Jonathan and I! So many of our friends and family live far away and this is probably the best way to keep everyone updated on all the fun and exciting things that are going on. A little background: Jonathan and I met in April of last year at Olive Garden. I was on a friend date with another guy when Jon sat across from me and swept me off my feet. I told him what apt I was living in and he came over a couple days later, got my number and we have talked everyday since.
In November we both went home to our families. Him in Portland, Oregon and me to Omaha, Nebraska. He was suppposed to be back on Saturday but he told me his flight was cancelled due to mechanical problems and he wouldn't be getting in until Sunday at 5:30. I was getting in at 4:00. He told me that his manager needed a rent check which was at his apartment. If she didn't get it by 5:30 she would charge him a late fee. He asked if when I got into town I would go to his apartment, grab it and give it to her. Of course I would! I got off the shuttle headed home, got all cute and stuff and then went over. I walked in and all the lights were off. There were little tea candles making a lighted pathway with red and white streamer twisted together. Written on the ceiling was J&L. There was background music playing. "Let's Get Married" by Jagged Edge. I followed the pathway to where he was. He was dressed up, hands behind his back and a big smile on his face. I was shocked. I said hi put my purse down and gave him a hug. He told me how he felt about me and my eyes began to water and the sweet sincerity of his words. He knelt down, asked if I would be his wife and slipped the most gorgeous ring on my finger. I said yes! He stood up and gave me a big hug and kiss. I couldn't stop staring at my ring. It was better than anything I had ever seen or imagined. I still stare at my ring in awe all the time. This was the most perfect moment ever.
We have been going out for almost ten months now. Hands down the best ten months of my life! We're getting married on April 10th in the Winter Quarters Nebraksa temple. It is going to be absolutely amazing! We're both so excited and are ready to be married! The wedding plans are going very well. My mom is magnificent and is helping a ton! I don't think I could never do this without her. She is just the best ever! It's so cool to see everything coming together. I just can't wait for the day when we're sealed for all time and eternity. Its going to be the first day of the rest of our lives together. It's a new beginning and I'm just extatic!
We are apart for this semester and it's been hard, but we are always growing closer. And our love continues to multiply. He came up and suprised this past weekend for Valentine's Day. It was so much fun! The week flew by! That just means that we're one week closer! Yay!
